The Dessau Endowment. The Grace Dessau Endowment Fund, established by her children, is named in memory of Grace Dessau, a Holocaust survivor.  Without a formal education, and not knowing the language, Grace’s sheer persistence and determination drove her to raise a family in the U.S. and eventually earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Queens College with a minor in Jewish History.  Grace was a true believer in her Jewish faith and heritage, which gave her the strength to persevere and prosper despite the horrors that she lived through.  The scholarship is awarded to one student annually who is a major or minor in Jewish Studies and has an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Preference is given to students with an interest in Holocaust Studies.
