|Deadline for Essay Contest on Korea and/or Korean Culture|
Thursday, October 31, 2013 11:55 PM
A few months ago, in collaboration with the Korea Society, we announced the First RCKC Essay Contest on Korea and/or Korean Culture. We have made two major changes: (1) The contest is now open to both graduate and undergraduate college students, and (2) The deadline has been extended to October 31, 2013.
This contest has been organized, in part, to gauge Americans' and Korean Americans' perceptions of Korea, particularly because South Korea has undergone so many changes in the last twenty to forty years.
To be eligible for this English-language essay contest, which will award cash and other prizes, you must be enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program at a university in the United States. This contest is open to non-Korean and Korean-American students. Korean-American students include U.S.-born or 1.5-generation Koreans (which refers to people who immigrated to the U.S. at age fifteen or younger).
Once again, the deadline for submission of essays is October 31, 2013. The essays should be five to ten pages long, double-spaced, and typed in 12-point Times New Roman font. For more detailed information and complete guidelines, click on the link below:
