Aaron Copland School of Music Recital Policies
Please read the recital terms stated below carefully and press the
PROGRAM LENGTH: All concerts must run 75 minutes or less
(including intermission, pauses between works, stage changes and a five minute
late seating delay). Performers are advised not to program more than 60 minutes
of music for their recital.
PRINTED PROGRAM: Recital
program must be emailed in Microsoft Word or PDF format to firstname.lastname@example.org at
least one week before recital date. Please include the date and time of your
recital in the subject line of the email and the amount of copies you would
like (100 copies maximum) in the body of the email. Programs received after
this deadline will incur a $5 printing fee. Please use this
template to create your recital program.
INSTRUMENT USE: The following instruments are available
for use for all recitals:
• LeFrak Concert Hall: Steinway D Grand Piano
• Choral Room 264: Steinway B Grand Piano
• Recital Hall 226: Steinway B Grand Piano
The following instruments are available for recital use with
• Dowd French Double Harpsichord
• Walter Fortepiano
• Positiv (portable) Baroque organ
• Schiedmayer Celesta
• Bedient Opus 30 Tracker Organ (LeFrak Concert Hall)
use of any of the above instruments must be approved at least two weeks before
recital date by the Piano Technician: Andrew Saderman at
email@example.com or 718-997-3899.
Piano preparation is allowed only with prior approval of the
Piano Technician at least one month prior to recital date and only on specified
STAGE SET UP: One
technician will be provided one hour prior to and through the duration of the
concert for set up. Any special requirements (risers, staging, sound
reinforcement, multiple pianos, audio/video playback and any stage set up that
requires more than one technician) must be arranged through the Production
Manager: Justin Tricarico at firstname.lastname@example.org
or (718) 997-4259 at least two weeks before recital date and may incur a fee. Only one technician will be provided unless prior arrangements
are made with the Production Manager.
AUDIO RECORDINGS: All properly scheduled School of Music
recitals are professionally recorded unless otherwise specified by the Concert
Coordinator. To request a CD copy, please fill out and submit the Recital CD
Request Form (available in the School of Music office) including blank CD media
(up to three copies may be requested). Recital records can also be sent electronically by contacting Justin.Tricarico@qc.cuny.edu. Any special recording needs must be
arranged through the Recording Engineer: Rick Krahn at email@example.com or (718)
AND IMPORTANT DATES:
• Requests to schedule or reschedule a recital received on
or after October 19, 2015 will not be honored.
• No non-required recitals will be scheduled on or after November 16, 2015.
No cancellation or rescheduling of a recital will
be considered without the written approval of the student's private teacher.
PROMOTION AND ADVERTISEMENT
All recitals will be advertised on the main page of the Aaron Copland School of Music website as well as the concert calendar posted outside of the Music Department Office. CANCELLATION AND RESCHEDULING FEES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
• Three months prior to recital: $25
• One month prior to recital: $50
• Two weeks prior to recital: $100
• No show (no written notice of cancellation or rescheduling):
