Spanish Peer Tutoring Program

Students in elementary and intermediate language courses in Spanish may seek assistance from peer tutors enrolled in the Department's Peer Tutoring Program. If you need a tutor, please check the tutoring schedule, which will be available on the second week of the semester.

Requirements to Be a Tutor

Students with advanced fluency, who have also passed SPAN 221 or SPAN 224 with a grade of B or higher, may apply to become tutors. Interested students should contact the Basic Language Courses' Coordinator at the Department's Office (Kiely 243) during the first week of the semester. If accepted in the Tutoring Program, prospective tutors will be supervised by a full-time faculty member and earn 2 credits for their work. These are regular Queens College paid credits. The fees bill is calculated according to the Bursar's requirements. Particularly successful tutors may be selected to tutor for an additional semester earning 1 credit.

Spanish Movies

Every Monday and Wednesday during free period, we will show a current movie in Spanish with English subtitles in Kiely 246.

Conversation Sessions

Every Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. in Kiely 243.
