Student doing an eexperiment in the science lab

Queens College offers a number of options for pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in chemistry and biochemistry. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry has Bachelor of Arts, Master's, and Doctoral programs. We also have a four year BA/MA option and a track for students who want to concentrate on chem education. Our programs will prepare you for many opportunities, including further study at a professional school of medicine or dentistry, careers in the chemical and biotechnology industries, teaching, and more

We are accredited by the Committee on Professional Training (CPT) of the American Chemical Society as qualified to offer professional training to chemists. And several courses offered by the department fulfill LASAR requirements.

Our faculty members have a strong commitment to both teaching and research and we encourage students to become involved in our research programs.
