I became a member of the Department of Accounting & Information Systems in 1973. I served as Chair of the Department from 1984 to 1990 and currently serve as Deputy Chair for Day Session. I earned a B.A. in Accounting from Queens College in 1967, a MBA in Accounting from Baruch College in 1969, and a PhD in Accounting from CUNY in 1977. Prior to joining the Queens College faculty (most of whom were my teachers when I was an undergraduate), I became a NYS Certified Public Accountant while on the audit staffs of Arthur Young & Co. and Haskins & Sells. My primary research relates to communication theory and external financial reporting while my secondary research relates to theoretical issues and practical applications in Management Accounting.
