Academic Biography
Kristina Richardson teaches courses in Islamic history. She earned her PhD in Near Eastern Studies at the University of Michigan in 2008, and her AB in History at Princeton University in 2003. She is currently revising her dissertation "Blighted Bodies and Physical Difference in Cairo, Damascus and Mecca, 1400-1550" into a book manuscript. Additionally, she is working on projects about the Islamic theology of blue eyes and on medieval scholars' use of marking nut, a potent botanical neuroenhancer.
