Renee Weiss, Assistant Professor of Accounting, began teaching accounting and financial statement analysis in 2005, after a 20-year career in private industry. She is an alumna of the City University of New York, having earned her bachelor’s degree at Queens College and doctorate at Baruch College. Her research interests include corporate governance, earnings quality, and corporate disclosure practices. She has published a book on audit committee characteristics associated with effective monitoring, and has co-authored several academic articles. She has received recognition from the New York State Society of CPAs for academic achievement and from CUNY as part of its “Salute to Scholars” program.
