All Division of Education graduates who completed their requirements for graduation in either September 2012 or February 2013, or will be completing requirements for graduation in May of 2013 or September 2013, are invited to attend the College-wide Commencement and Education Divisional Recognition Ceremony taking place on Thursday, May 30, 2013.
Congratulations on your achievements! We look forward to seeing you at Commencement on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 9 AM on the Campus Quad. Assembly time for Education students is at 8 AM outside Kiely Hall, north side (facing Klapper Circle and playground). All students need to submit their RSVP for the College-wide Ceremony by visiting the Commencement Webpage.
Below is important information regarding the Education Divisional Recognition Ceremony that takes place after Commencement.
- The Divisional Ceremony will begin at 11:15 AM (Approximately ½ Hour after the College-Wide Commencement on the Quad).
- Each graduate is entitled to 3 tickets. The tickets must be picked up in your appropriate departmental office beginning in May. Please check the schedule below for pick-up dates and times. Graduates picking up tickets will need to provide the department with valid student ID, and sign for the tickets. Lost tickets will not be replaced!
- All guests must have a ticket to enter Colden Auditorium. Even infants, toddlers and children must have a ticket due to Safety Codes for the Auditorium. Please note that if a guest does not have a ticket they will not be allowed to enter Colden Auditorium for any reason.
- You, as a graduate have reserved seating and do not need to use one of the three tickets you received for yourself. The fact that you are in cap and gown will give you access to the Auditorium when you process in with the rest of the graduates.
- Please look for your department/program line-up outside of Colden Auditorium so that you can process in together.
- Your guests will enter Colden Auditorium through the front doors. All strollers, carriages, etc. will have to be left in the main lobby area of Colden Auditorium until the end of the Ceremony.
- Please ask you guests to remain seated through the entire ceremony (90 minutes). Out of respect for your fellow graduates, please plan on remaining for the entire ceremony.
- Please remind your guests to enter the Auditorium and be seated so that the Ceremony can begin promptly. Remind them not to block any aisles or entrances.
- You must be in cap and gown and hood (if Master's degree graduate). Please remember to bring your READER'S CARD provided to you upon submitting your online Commencement RSVP and a MAP showing Colden Auditorium for your guests that you will print before you arrive on campus. There will be a professional photographer on stage taking pictures as you walk to receive your diploma. You will be given a Photography Card to complete at Colden. Photos will be available for viewing online at a later date and time. DO NOT FORGET TO BRING THE READER'S CARD.
- We want this day to be special for all of you.
- Colden Auditorium is located at the corner of Kissena Blvd. and the service road of the Long Island Expressway (Horace Harding).
- No one will be admitted to Colden Auditorium early. Please do not ask Security to allow you in before the doors have been open to the public.
- Ticket Lottery Drawings will be taking place the week of May 28, 2013. If you need an extra ticket fill out a Ticket Lottery Card for a chance to win one extra ticket. A full list of all lottery ticket winners will be posted outside the Dean's Office door (Powdermaker Hall 100) beginning May 28, 2013 at 9 AM. Please note you will not be contacted, you must check the list.
