For faculty, General Education is an opportunity to pause and to think: What are the great ideas of my discipline? What are the unique modes and methods of exploring the world that I would like students to experience? Most importantly, what class would I like to see all students take? As faculty, General Education helps you create that unique class by:

• Developing a Perspectives course.
• Proposing a Synthesis or Capstone course. 
  
• Proposing a Writing course.
• Taking part in the Freshman Year Initiative.
• Applying for a Teacher Scholar Grant.
• Contributing to the General Education conversation and presenting at the President's Roundtable.

Participation in General Education allows you to collaborate with other faculty, connect your research to your teaching, and design innovative pedagogies.
