Opting In to The QC Core Curriculum
Is the new QC Core Curriculum for you?
- If
you entered Queens College before Fall 2013, you may
choose to continue with your current general education requirements or “Opt In”
to the new QC Core curriculum. The QC Core is designed to meet the
requirements of the CUNY Pathways Initiative. Through Pathways, you can
transfer your credits seamlessly from one CUNY college to another.
- If you are a continuing student but have not completed
all your requirements, compare QC Core requirements with your current requirements using the table below.
- You
should consider a number of factors before you decide to opt in to the
QC Core. How many requirements have you already completed? What courses
remain? Also, there are differences between the old and new curriculum
that may affect financial aid.

Returning students
(students who have been away for more than a semester and are coming
back) will follow the QC Core (CUNY Pathways) Curriculum, but are
encouraged to see an Academic Advisor about remaining in the
Perspectives Curriculum.
