Beijing Internship for Special Education

                                                   Conducted in English

Supervised teaching of students with severe disabilities within a candidate’s certification area with a focus on students on the autism spectrum. Candidates will be placed in a classroom with students with intensive support needs, where they will be provided the opportunity and guidance to participate in application of theories and practices discussed in prerequisite courses. Clinical component consists of full-time participation and teaching for the entire semester.  Seminars supplement the clinical experience. Entry into this internship requires a B or better in both ECPSE 720 and ECPSE 722.

Credits Offered: 6 Credits

Housing: Shared apartment

Dates for program: July 1-August 12, 2011 (Program dates are NY departure and return dates.)

                                    Program Costs

Cost (includes all expenses below except airfare): $2100

CUNY Graduate tuition (for in-state, matriculated Graduates): $1860 

Travel insurance, housing: $240

QC program deposit: $350

Total cost with airfare: $ 3900

Airfare: $ 1800

Additional costs

Minimum budget for meals and personal expenses of $15 to $20 per day 
(approximately $420 to $560)

Application deadline: May 1, 2011

Travel on Fridays and some Saturdays for some programs.
