In this course, students will get a close-up look at cutting-edge Japanese research labs, and a chance to visit some of the world’s leading hi-tech corporations and manufacturing facilities. In addition to attending lectures on modern Japanese technology in robotics, environmental and life sciences, computer science, and engineering. Students will have an intensive cultural program that includes tours and excursions, participation in a tea ceremony and learning about Kendo, Karate, manga, and animation. They will meet and interact with Japanese students and Join their club activities.

The program is hosted by Toyohashi University of Technology, located in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, in the centre of Japan’s manufacturing and industrial heartland. Additionally, the city is home to global powerhouses such as the world’s leading car manufacturer, Toyota.​ 

Program Costs:

 

Cost paid to Study Abroad Office: $1647

 

QC program fee:                                                                       $400

Travel insurance:                                                              ​         $47

Consolidated fee:                                                                      $1200

(includes housing, breakfast, and excursions)

 

**Not included in the above cost:

 

CUNY tuition for in-state, matriculated undergraduates                $825    

(For out of state undergraduate: $1680) 

Airfare:                                                                                    $1200 - $1400 (estimate)

​Minimum budget for meals and personal expenses:                     $25 to $30 per day


Please keep in mind:

-       Programs are open to all undergraduate students from all CUNY campuses (unless restricted by level of study, language fluency, or other program criteria).

-       Some programs may require travel on Fridays and some Saturdays

-       Students are encouraged to apply early
