 Florence Sketchbook

1 week tour of Central Italy & 3 weeks in Florence, Italy

Session II: NY departure and return dates: June 16 – July 13, 2018

Arrive in Rome on June 17 (no later than 4pm)


Course Information:​


Course: 4 credits (conducted in English)

Faculty: Florence University of the Arts

Housing: Shared housing in apartments

This course is designed to take full advantage of the student's unique experiences of living and studying in the city of Florence. With on-site inspiration channeled into artistic creativity, students will draw on location at sites of historical significance and visual interest, ranging from architectural masterpieces, landscape vistas and medieval streets to formal gardens, street markets and Renaissance fountains. Slide lectures will document the rich history of how Florence and its environs have attracted and inspired visiting artists for centuries. Students will develop individual sketchbooks with the aim of building up a professional portfolio with source material for future projects. No prerequisites required for this course.

Travel during class time is strictly prohibited.

Program Costs:

Cost paid to Study Abroad Office: $2600


QC program fee:                                                                       $400

Consolidated fee:                                                                      $2145

(includes housing, tuition differential, student and lab fees)


**Not included in the above cost:


CUNY tuition for in-state, matriculated undergraduates                $1140    

(For out of state undergraduate: $2320) 

Airfare:                                                                                    $1000 - $1300 (estimate)


​Minimum budget for meals and personal expenses:                     $25 to $30 per day

Please keep in mind:

-       Programs are open to all undergraduate students from all CUNY campuses (unless restricted by level of study, language fluency, or other program criteria).

-       Some programs may require travel on Fridays and some Saturdays

-       Students are encouraged to apply early
