Introduction to Digital Photography
This course will introduce students to the digital photography world with a particular focus on the latest techniques and how they can be incorporated into digital fine art photography. Students will explore the use of state-of-the-art software and techniques. The instructor will guide them in learning to master photo computer software and how to control the scanning of a picture, transparency, and negative to make a good quality digital print. Elements of photo composition and graphic design, photo history, and relationships with other art mediums will be addressed. As part of the course, students will particpate in outdoor photographing sessions, on-site visits, direct interaction with subjects for assignments, and participation in special projects. The course will culminate in a final photography project, in which the students must present selected photographs taken throughout the course. FUA's Digital Laboratory is equipped with the most up-to-date computers, software, and peripherals.
