CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

​The Department of Computer Science at Queens College in the City University of New York invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position, with appointment to begin in Fall 2018. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, and establishing a record of research and scholarship as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, grant applications and funded research. Shared responsibility exists for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
As an urban liberal arts college that emphasizes both research and teaching, Queens College has earned high rankings in prestigious college guides such as The Princeton Review’s America’s Best Value Colleges. The Computer Science Department serves over 1400 undergraduate majors and 100 master's degree students, and participates actively in the Ph.D. program based at the CUNY Graduate Center.

GENERAL DUTIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

​Ph.D. degree by June 2018 in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related discipline.  A demonstrated level of expertise and research excellence is required. Also required are the ability to teach successfully and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
The successful candidate must have a demonstrated level of expertise and research excellence in various core areas of CS technology education, including software engineering, software/hardware systems, and distributed computing (cloud computing).  Also required are the ability to teach successfully and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
