​The Mathematics Department of Queens College, City University of New York, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2018.  The duties of this position include teaching undergraduate and master’s level courses in mathematics and statistics; establishing a record of research and scholarship via peer-reviewed publications; serving on departmental and college-wide committees; working cooperatively with colleagues; and mentoring students.  The successful candidate must be committed to teaching a diverse student body.Often referred to as “the jewel of the CUNY system,” Queens College is an urban school in a suburban setting, where a large and diverse student body receives personalized attention.  This formula has made us one of New York’s premier educational institutions.

​Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in mathematics by August 1, 2018 and must provide significant evidence of scholarly promise and achievement.  They must demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching.  Applicants who do not meet these requirements will not be considered.  Preference will be given to candidates who have at least two years of post-doctoral or equivalent experience.  Scholarly activity compatible with the interests and needs of the department is preferred.
