Terminology
What is QC User ID?

QC User ID is your Active Directory account.

What is an Active Directory (AD) account?

An AD account is a computer account that is used to access network resources. It can be used to log in to computers, connect to the wireless network on campus, to access library databases off campus, to log in to online applications such as webgrade, web attendance anywhere.

Who has an Active Directory account?
Every faculty, staff and student at Queens College.
How do I activate an Active Directory account?
You can activate your AD account online at https://cams.qc.cuny.edu and if necessary, please refer to this tutorial.
What is CAMS?
CAMS stands for College Account Management Systems at Queens College.
What does CAMS do?
Currently CAMS allows you to manage two types of Queens College accounts: your Active Directory account and your Lotus Notes email account.  You can activate your accounts, change your passwords by logging into CAMS.
What is a “CAMS account”?
“CAMS account” has been used synonymously with “Active Directory account” and that is an inaccurate reference since CAMS is a system which manages two (AD and Lotus Notes) rather than one single type of accounts.
