The Media Services division of O.C.T.
provides campus-wide, technological support for the College's instructional
and research programs and for other College sponsored activities and events.
Media Services provides a full range of audiovisual support to classrooms,
conferences and meetings held by Q.C. and outside organizations.
Media Services support is available during the hours the College is operational
(8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.) this includes weekends and by special prior
arrangements particular College events that require support that take place
outside the regular hours.
Services include:
•Scheduling and delivery of media and support equipment to classrooms located in 11 Q.C. buildings with the exception of Kissena Hall, Temps 1, 2 & 3, B bldg. E bldg and G bldg. (These are exceptions because storage rooms are not available).
•Technical support, training and keys to the A/V closets located in the classrooms and conference rooms in Powdermaker Hall.
•Projectionist support for the showing of 16mm motion pictures in large lecture halls and classrooms.
•Technical support and training in the use of technology enhanced classrooms.
•Sound reinforcement (PA) for College special events, including College Commencement, conferences and concerts held in all QC auditoriums with the exception of LeFrak Concert Hall, Colden Auditorium and Student Union.
•Loaning of and instruction in the use of portable equipment to staff and students.
•Satellite Tele-conferencing, taping of off-air licensed programs from cable and satellite feed.
•Audio and videotape duplication (with copyright permission) and the conversion of videocassettes from all world standards to NTSC is available to faculty & staff.
•Duplication and sale of language audiotapes.

The lecture halls listed above have audio visual equipment permanently installed; the equipment is secured in the lecture hall podium and training in the use of the equipment prior to the first class is required.

This room is the result of a collaborative effort between QC and the City University to facilitate new teaching and learning experiences. The room provides the integration of three technologies- a multimedia distribution system, video conferencing technology and white board/presentation equipment. The technology enables teachers to integrate a variety of information on demand. Students and faculty at CUNY schools can share and retrieve resources and information. Students and/or Faculty at a distance site can interact live through videoconference equipment with students and/or faculty on the QC campus. The room can also be used as a self contained smart classroom; seating capacity is limited to 30 students.
