Microsoft Campus 3 Agreement

Queens College now has in place a Microsoft Campus 3 Agreement, which replaces the previous Microsoft Select 6 Agreement. Under Campus 3, both faculty and staff may obtain licenses for the following software:

  • Windows Operating System, Upgrade (Vista available November, 2006)
  • Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, InfoPath, Access, Outlook, Publisher)
  • OneNote and Groove (November 2006, as part of Office 2007)
  • Core CAL (Client Access License).  Exchange, Windows Server, SharePoint, SMS.

Additional Microsoft applications licenses may be available under the Select 6 Agreement.

The college covers license fees for the above applications when the software is deployed in a lab or office computer. OCT will no longer send invoices to departments, faculty, or staff who request this software for their office computers. Student can obtain Microsoft software licenses at a discount through the CUNY eMall.

Internet Explorer 7

Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP in five new languages:  German, Japanese, French, Spanish, and Finnish. You can download it from the IE website. Among the new features are:

  • phishing filter
  • tabbed browsing
  • shrink-to-fit printing
  • customizable search box
