Service Outage

On Thursday, April 17^th at 2:00pm all computer resources will be down due to an upgrade of our uninterruptible electrical power system.  You will only be able to work on documents located on your computer.  Access to network drives, shared printers and the Internet will be unavailable.  For more information please contact the Help Desk at 718-997-4444.

Training and Workshops

The Office of Information Technology is pleased to announce computer training workshops for the spring 2003 Semester.  These workshops are taught voluntarily by our staff members in response to the computer training needs of staff.

The classes will be offered this term on Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Classes are open to Queens College staff (full-time or part-time), but are not open to students.

Software Availability

Did you know that OCT maintains a web site that lists software available to faculty and staff?  Much of the items listed are available to you under a state contract or via academic/reduced pricing.  Please visit http://www.qc.edu/OCT/swpl for more information.

What is Web Services?

The Web Services team is dedicated to the following:

- Keeping the QC web site current and comprehensive.
- Promoting campus awareness and use of the QC web site.
- Providing assistance to faculty and staff in designing and understanding web-related concepts.

Below is a list of wireless internet connections recently added to the campus. 

- Dining Hall - Whole Building.
- Rosenthal Library – excluding the President’s Conference rooms.
- The modular buildings.
- The Quad.
- The area between Klapper and the Dining Hall.
- The front entrance lobby of Kiely.
- Cooperman Plaza.
- Science Building Lobby.
