Media Services Request Form Now Online

We are pleased to announce that an online Media Services Request form is now available at http://www.qc.cuny.edu/OCT/media_services/. This form can be used to order various media equipment for classroom use and for the Kiely 115, 119a and 119b classrooms.

Faculty and staff who wish to use this form must log in with their college id number and home zip code. Requests must be made at least 7 working days before the date requested for equipment.

Faculty and staff will still be able to fill out paper request forms by going to the Media Services Office in Kiely 183.

Fall 2005 Training and Lotus Notes Workshops

OCT and the Provost's Office are pleased to announce the fall 2005 schedule of training classes for faculty and staff. The classes will be offered on Friday mornings from 9:30 to noon, in Kiely 226, The Learning Center complex.

Go to the Faculy/Staff Workshop page to see a complete list of courses, descriptions and dates to register. You will receive an email confirmation and an email reminder the week before your class is given.

In addition, Lotus Notes workshops are being offered. As you may know, the Lotus Notes e-Mail system is being released throughout the Queens College community for faculty, staff, and students. The schedule of Lotus Notes Workshops and access to the Registration Application can also be found at the Faculy/Staff Workshop page. Each session is reserved for specific departments.

When signing up for any Lotus Notes workshop please keep in mind that you should first select from the block that was specifically allocated for your department. This will ensure that there will be seats for all.

Computer Lab Request Form

To reserve an OCT computer classroom/lab, an online reservation request form has been provided at http://www.qc.cuny.edu/OCT/computer_labs/lab_request_form/. Phone or paper reservation forms will no longer be accepted.

We will send you an email to verify that we have received your request. You will be sent an email confirmation when we have determined the classroom/lab availability.  Please note that all software that is needed by the instructor in the classroom/lab must be requested 12 weeks before the semester so that we may obtain the licenses and install the software.

Student Internships

OCT and the Computer Science Department have initiated a student internship program.  Selected students are assigned to various academic and administrative departments on campus that need assistance with their Web sites.  This may consist of updating, revising or creating a web presence for departments without one.  Students will receive credit for their efforts.   If you are interested in receiving assistance from a student intern, please email us at webmaster@qc.edu
