| Connect
to the server |
Server/host Address:
qcpages.qc.cuny.edu |
Username: QC\ADusername or INSTR\ADUsername
* The QC and INSTR domains are being merged into a single domain QC. If you previously login using INSTR\ADusername, please change it to QC\ADusername from now on. If you experience difficulty, please email webmaster@qc.cuny.edu. |
| Trouble
connecting? |
PC users: WinSCP as FTP client, free download link: http://internap.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/winscp/winscp400.exe Login instructions with screen shots: http://www.qc.cuny.edu/OCT/web_services/WinSCP.pdf
Mac
users: Fugu as FTP client, free download at:
http://www.pure-mac.com/downloads/fugudl.html
If your AD account password works elsewhere (for example, to login to your office computer, or webattendance, etc) but does not work with WinSCP, it is recommended that you change your password here https://cams.qc.cuny.edu/login2.aspx and try logging into WinSCP again afterwards.

| Navigate
to the
destination
folder |
Department folder: After you log in, you are in your home directory, such as, jsmith. To go to
the department website, navigate to the root, then wwwfiles,
then the department folder.
|
Personal folder: All personal folders are under the home directory. When you log in, you see your personal
folder right away(if none existed before, one will
be created upon login). If you have a
personal folder with a different name from your login user name,
that was migrated from the old server, navigate up to the home
directory, where all the personal folders are listed. |
| Personal
folder problems? |
All the
departmental web folders have been moved to the new server. |
For personal sites, only those that were
modified afte 12/31/2005 were migrated. Otherwise, a personal folder can be moved
over upon request to the helpdesk.
If a
personal site is not working or having permission issues, please refer to the
accounts manager. In most cases,
either the content needs to be migrated or permissions need to be resolved. |
| WinSCP file upload error |
Symptoms:
Upload of file
'filename' was successful, but error occurred while setting the permissions and/or timestamp. If the problem persists, turn on 'Ignore permission errors' option.
Resolution
turn on Ignore permission errors
steps: open WinSCP, go to Options - Preferences, click on Transfer, check Ignore permission errors option.
