As part of a campus-wide green initiative, Queens College uses a print management system designed to reduce waste and our carbon footprint.
At the start of the semester, QC loads $15 into the QPrint fund on the QCard of every entering freshman or transfer student. In each subsequent semester, matriculated students without holds on their account are eligible for a $15 refill. To qualify, you must complete evaluations for the courses you just took; click on the form and fill it out online.
Whenever you make a printout or photocopy, your card will be charged at the rate of 10 cents per black-and-white page and 25 cents for color. Once the $15 is depleted, your QPrint fund will not be replenished until the next semester. You can load money into the QCard’s general debit fund (QBucks) and use that for additional printing.
To make a printout, login, select the document, and confirm the printer location. Then go to that printer, swipe your QCard at the card reader, collect your document, and logout. To make a photocopy, swipe your QCard at the card reader on the copy machine.
If you don’t have a QCard, you can buy a print value card from a QCard Station on campus.
If you have problems with your card and copiers or printers, email QC.QCard@qc.cuny.edu. On evenings or weekends, ask the computer lab attendant for assistance.
