Welcome!
Once you have been admitted to Queens College, you may confirm your acceptance and prepare to register for courses by signing up for Freshman Orientation or a Transfer Advising Workshop.
Through the new-student program, you will get information about the college’s academic requirements and its educational offerings and opportunities. The Academic Advising Center is your initial resource for academic information and the venue through which you can register for your first semester’s classes. Throughout your tenure at Queens College, professional academic advisors will be available to work with you to check your degree progress and provide advisement for efficient schedule planning and registration.
For more information about the services offered by the Academic Advising Center, click here.
Freshman Orientation: If you have never been to college before, signing up for Freshman & Family Orientation is your first step toward a successful college career. At Orientation you will learn about academic programs and degree requirements, plan a course of study with academic advisors, register for classes, and connect with peers, faculty, and staff. All new freshmen must attend, and an RSVP is required. Click here to go to the online reservation system.
Transfer Advising Workshops: If you are coming to Queens College after earning credits at another institution, then you are strongly encouraged to attend a Transfer Advising Workshop, which will help you make the transition to Queens College. Academic advisors will guide you through the college’s degree and major requirements and explain the policies and procedures for transfer credit evaluation. Assistance with course registration is also available. Last summer, over 82% of incoming transfer students attended a workshop. An RSVP is required. Click here to go to the online reservation system.
