Assistant Provost
The Office of the Assistant Provost is responsible for developing and administering
the Coordinated Undergraduate Education program and the CUNY Black Male Initiative.
This includes facilitating coordination among the office’s reporting programs to
foster recruitment and retention of undergraduates as well as to encourage their
academic growth and success.
The academic and support services reporting to the assistant provost include the Academic Advising Center, the Academic Support Center, the Writing Center, the Academic
Support Laboratory, Testing, and Health Professions Advising. The assistant provost also works with the directors of Writing at Queens, Freshman Year Initiative, the Macaulay Honors College at Queens, College NOW, and the Office of
Honors and Scholarships to expand academic opportunities for students in the college.
Additionally, the Office of the Assistant Provost supervises the Interdisciplinary Major, and the interdisciplinary and ethnic studies programs, including Jewish Studies, Byzantine and Modern Greek
Studies, and the Asian American Center.
