Citizenship Documentation
There are several reasons why the Financial Aid Office might request citizenship documents (i.e., passport, naturalization certificate). If you have been asked to submit your citizenship document, you must submit the original(s).
If your citizenship status changed after you received a Social Security card, you should update your records with the Social Security Administration.
If you submitted citizenship documents and were asked by the Financial Aid Office to visit the Social Security Office to clear up inconsistent information, you must do so. By taking this step, you will avoid recurring issues in future academic years. The Financial Aid Office will not accept your citizenship documents the following year.
