>>>> Applying for the TEACH Grant at Queens College <<<<
Step One:
If you are eligible to apply based on the above, the beginning of the application process is the FAFSA application. This is only the first step of several in applying for the TEACH Grant.
Students interested in the TEACH Grant at Queens College should file the FAFSA application immediately - and resolve all edits and documentation requirements with Financial Aid Services - as soon as possible.
Step Two:
Information about the TEACH Grant as well as the Entrance Counseling and Agreement to Serve that you must complete are on the Federal Government's web site at https://teach-ats.ed.gov/ats/index.action . If you are interested in applying for the TEACH Grant, complete these web-based processes now.
More information on a student's general award eligibility as well as other program regulations is available at http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/TEACH.jsp .
>>>> Please pay careful attention to all requirements - and the timetable for completing them. Pay special attention to the service requirements and service documentation requirements, as well as to the conditions under which this grant could become an expensive loan. NOTE that once it becomes a loan it CAN NOT be changed back to a grant.
Step Three:
After you have completed steps 1 and 2, if you are still interested in the TEACH Grant, there is an ADDITIONAL APPLICATION and an interview process required. This additional Queens College application, with a more complete listing of application and eligibility requirements plus details regarding the required interview in the QC Division of Education, is available at http://www.qc.cuny.edu/admissions/tfas/fa/Documents/TEACHGrant_Request_09-10.pdf . Your request for a TEACH Grant is not complete without it.
Step Four:
You will be contacted for an interview with a representative of QC Financial Aid Services.
