Out-of-State Residents
Students who are billed as non-NY-State residents have a higher tuition bill than NY State residents. In addition, they are not eligible for any NY State financial aid.
If your CUNYFirst billing information shows that you are being charged as an out-of-state resident and you believe that is an error, contact the Admissions Office (first semester students) or the Registrar's Office (continuing students) and ask for information about the process for requesting review..
If you are correctly considered an out-of-state resident, it may be that your home state has a state grant program that will pay you for attendance here. Check on the web site for your home state's college grant program and see if their grant is "PORTABLE" to other states, or if it can only be used for attendance at a college in your home state.
