Aid Remaining After Your Tuition and Fees Bill is Paid
Because of the low cost of tuition and fees at Queens College, many students have aid remaining after their bill has been paid. This excess money can be used to cover educational expenses other than tuition and fee charges.
Provided you file early and any application and eligibility issues are all resolved early, the dates below are when we would expect the CUNY financial aid payroll system to release any aid balance from aid programs you have been awarded.

If CUNYFirst does not take your aid as scheduled below for liabilities to the College, the payments will be mailed to the address on your financial aid file, or deposited to the account you have set up for direct deposit or to your new CUNY Scholar Support card.
Refunds due you of any aid paid first to your account in CUNYFirst are made by the bursar's office by paper check only --- and mailed to the address on CUNYFirst as you become eligible for the refund.

- Students with fall and spring Direct Loans - 9/19/12
- Students requesting fall only - 9/19/12 and 10/24/12 (divided into 2 payments but money owed the college comes first out of the first payment)
- New freshman students - earliest date is 9/26/12

Federal Work-Study
Work-study wages are paid to students awarded work-study based on hours actually worked and in accordance with a pay period schedule you receive with your job placement information when you come in for a job.
Other Aid
If your New York State aid such as TAP and state scholarship amounts have to be refunded to you, the funds will be sent by the Bursar 's office to the address on CUNYFirst after certification is complete and final payment is made by NY State to the college.
