• They are for use in person at the college bookstore only -- and only at the very beginning of the semester.  See the QC Bookstore website for their location and hours and for required books.
• This semester they can be written against actual current awards of Pell Grant, SEOG, Direct Loans, and Perkins Loans where awards are set, and all preliminary eligbility requirements have been met and needed follow up is complete.
• Pell Book Vouchers (against Pell only) - will be issued from August 27th through September 5th  and can be used in the bookstore through September 5th only. 
• Fox Book Vouchers (against SEOG, Perkins and Direct Loans) - will be written from August 27th through September 5th, and can be used in the bookstore through September 5th only
• Book vouchers against Perkins Loans can only be written for students who completed their Academic Year 2012-2013 Perkins Loan Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling EARLY on the ECSI.NET web site.  Details are on our office's Perkins Loan website.
• This is NOT additional money --- it is just a way to let you use early in the semester part of your anticipated aid that is coming much later for books and supplies. As a result, if you become ineligible for any of your aid, or your tuition bill changes in a way that you may need this aid to help pay your tuition and fees bill, you may owe the college for all or part of the amount of your voucher.
• The book voucher maximum is $ 624 - or the balance remaining for the semester - whichever is less. 
• The amount you will be billed will be the amount you actually used of this voucher in the Bookstore.
• Be sure to calculate for yourself how much of your aid you will have left over after you do any program adjustments.

Requesting a Book Voucher and How to Use It
Students who were not already sent a Fall 2012 book advance check for the maximm $ 624 for Fall 2012 and have money remaining in their other Fall aid (in the specific programs listed above) after their tuition/fess bill is paid listed above can request review for a book voucher.  If you are eligible, you will complete paperwork with us in person to OPT-IN to the Pell or Fox book voucher program and commit to repaying any athe amount you use.

The voucher can be used at the QC Bookstore during the short period indicated above and on your paper voucher.

When the paperwork is completed, you take it to the Bookstore Customer Service counter with your QC photo ID and they enter the voucher information into their register system.  After that one-time per semester setup, you can start to use it immediately as a voucher against your anticipated aid at their registers.  Each time you use it you must present your QC photo ID and tell them you're using your book voucher as payment.  It expires at the end of the period listed above and on your book voucher.

Note that the book voucher paperwork and your CUNYFirst record MUST include your social security number - required to match with the social security number on your financial aid award.
