Queens College is one of several CUNY campuses participating in the the Federal TEACH Grant Program for 2012-2013.
At all of these campuses, only those students matriculated in specific master's degree programs in the Division of Education will be eligible to apply for the TEACH Grant for Academic Year 2010-2011. NOTE: Students in graduate certificate programs are NOT eligible for the TEACH Grant this year at Queens College.
Eligibility
To be considered, potentially eligible students must apply specifically for the TEACH Grant, following the steps detailed below.
Eligible master's degree programs at Queens College fall into the following categories, defined by the federal government as "high-need fields" for this purpose:
- Mathematics education
- Science education
- Foreign language education
- Bilingual education
- Reading specialist / literacy teacher
- TESOL
- Special education
You must be in one of the following eligible Queens College master's degree programs / Division of Education to be considered for the TEACH Grant:

In addition, you must meet the following to establish initial academic eligibility:
New graduate students must meet (and document) EITHER ONE of the following criteria:
Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale) on undergraduate coursework OR
Score above the 75th percentile on a college admissions test (e.g. SAT, ACT, or GRE). If this is needed to establish your initial academic eligibility for the TEACH Grant, you will be required to provide documentation of your test scores in accordance with Graduate Admissions Office procedures.
As a continuing graduate student, you must have met the academic criteria for undergraduate coursework or test scores mentioned above. Additionally, continuing graduate students must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on graduate degree coursework to receive an initial award. TEACH funds will not be disbursed if your GPA falls below a 3.25 during any subsequent semesters.

At all of these campuses, only those students matriculated in specific master's degree programs in the Division of Education are eligible to apply for the TEACH Grant. NOTE: Students in graduate certificate programs at Queens College are NOT eligible for TEACH.
To be considered, students must complete the FAFSA application, be enrolled in an eligible academic program at Queens College, and apply specifically for the TEACH Grant. Follow all the steps detailed on our TEACH Grant application, available on our FORMS page. Requirements include additional steps listed on the federal government's TEACH Grant website.
