File for a deferment when the year of eligible employment begins, and then file for cancellation at the end of the year. This is an annual application; file each year you are eligible.
You must work for a full calendar year to be eligible for one year's worth of cancellation. Some cancellation requests require a description of duties. Incomplete or altered forms will not be processed.
For teacher cancellation, the authorized official is the school's principal.
