At Queens College, students receive superb musical training and an excellent liberal arts education while enjoying the international music and performance culture of a world city. The Aaron Copland School of Music has extensive facilities for music majors and minors, including studios and an award-winning performance space. It has a large and distinguished faculty, an impressive calendar of student performance, and the advantage of frequent lectures, concerts, recitals, and workshops by visiting faculty, artists, and artists in residence.

The curriculum is rich with core and elective courses that develop the interdependent skills of performing, listening to, and understanding music. Courses include theory, history, cross-cultural musical traditions, musicianship, vocal and instrumental performance, composition, and teaching. Graduates are thoroughly prepared for graduate study and a musical career, including music education.
