From High School to Higher Education

During the admissions review process, we will assess your entire academic record which includes attempted and completed courses, along with grades earned.  We won’t only review academic success, but also your extracurricular accomplishments, special talents, awards, and life experiences you’ve had.  Queens College requires a personal statement/essay as part of our review process. For more information on the suspension of Standardized Testing Requirements, please click here.

Applicants on a temporary visa who were educated in a non-English environment are asked to submit results from TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo. Click here for more information.

SpanTran, a credential evaluation service, has created a custom application for CUNY Queens students that will make sure you select the right kind of evaluation at a discounted rate ($170 for the evaluation) . You can access their application by clicking here.

Our freshmen build their initial academic path and their immersion in the Queens College experience through the First Year Experience, along with vital help from our Academic Advising Staff and Student Mentors.
Honors and Scholarships Banner.

Queens College offers honors and scholarship programs for high-achieving high school students, including a multidisciplinary Freshman Honors Program and divisional honors programs in the humanities, math and natural sciences, and Social Sciences.

For outstanding high school students, the Macaulay Honors College supports gifted undergraduates with full tuition and other benefits.

Additional scholarship opportunities are available through the Queens College Scholars program. Prospective math teachers may qualify for scholarships and other incentives through Queens College’s innovative math education program, TIME 2000. Business and Liberal Arts, another Queens College initiative, familiarizes students with basic business disciplines; it’s designed for top-performing underclassmen, regardless of their major.
