A Word about electonic Mail (e-mail)
E-mail is the generic term given to the electronic transfer of messages between users of computer systems. All of our central systems provide e-mail to and from users of the same system, other systems, or the Internet. To use e-mail you must have an access account for a particular system or file server and know the recipient's proper e-mail address. You need not be concerned with the path your mail takes.

For all members of the College community with computer access accounts, a uniform mail address (known as an alias) can be used. This address is:

firstname_lastname@qc.edu

Please note that this address uses the first name and last name as they appear in this online campus directory.

The character between the names is the underscore "_", which is the shift + minus key on most keyboards. This address must be used appropriately for the mail program on the system you are using. Persons outside the College can also use this form of address to send mail to persons at the College.
