Russell Artzt co-founded Computer Associates (CA) in 1976, and it is now a global company with 16,000 employees, revenues of $3.8 billion and 150 offices in more than 45 countries. Artzt, who was responsible for writing the code for some of CA’s first products, currently manages all the company’s product business units. He was also instrumental in building the company’s research and development and field services departments. With more than 30 years’ experience in the IT industry as a technology leader, consultant and executive, he is considered a top expert in software development and project management.
Artzt is founder and sponsor of a research group at Mt. Sinai Hospital that is involved in finding cures for liver diseases. He is also a major sponsor of the Juvenile Diabetes organization and supporter of North Shore University Hospital, as well as a member of the Queens College Foundation Board of Trustees. Artzt holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Queens College and a master’s degree in computer science from New York University.
