Free Halloween Fun for Families at The Louis Armstrong House Museum


WHAT: Free Halloween Event at the Louis Armstrong House Museum
   
This Halloween, families are invited to don their costumes and
head over to the Louis Armstrong House Museum for a fun
afternoon. Visitors can count on free Halloween treats and the
opportunity to make spooky collages (with help from costumed
guides). Best costume prizes will be given out every hour.
Additionally, kids in their best Louis Armstrong costume can win
a one-year family membership to the museum and a copy of
Mary Pope Osborne’s Magic Tree House book, A Good Night for
Ghosts – a story of young Louis Armstrong and the world of
jazz.
   
WHEN: Halloween Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 1 - 4 pm
   
WHERE: The Louis Armstrong House Museum, located at 34-56 107th
Street in Corona, Queens. For directions, visit

COST: FREE Trick or Treating and craft making from 1 to 4 pm.
House tours available at regular admission from noon to 4 pm
($8 adults, $6 seniors & students, children under 4 free).
   
WHAT ELSE: In 1943, Louis Armstrong and his wife Lucille purchased a modest frame
house in the working-class neighborhood of Corona, Queens. They lived
there for the rest of their lives. Thanks to the vision and financial
support of the Louis Armstrong Education Foundation, today the house
is a National Historic Landmark and a New York City landmark
administered by Queens College and visted by people from all over the
