About the Joseph Tauber Scholarship Program:
The 1199SEIU Child Care Corporation recognizes the importance of
attaining a college degree and is helping to ease the burden for youth
planning to attend college. By administering the Joseph Tauber
Scholarship Program, a scholarship — funded by 1199SEIU National
Benefit Fund — which supports the academic achievement of young
people, the Child Care Corporation helps youth realize their academic
goals. The program offers scholarships to children of eligible 1199SEIU
members who are attending accredited undergraduate programs. The
awards support students’ studies and encourage them to reach their
academic goals. Visit the Joseph Tauber Scholarship page for more
information.

About Queens College:
Queens College graduates the most teachers, counselors and principals
in the metropolitan area. It also contributes to the city’s talent pool as
a powerful economic engine and a leader in tech education, with more
undergraduate computer science majors than any New York City
college. Students from across the country and around the world come
to study at the college’s Aaron Copland School of Music. Its renowned
faculty and alumni include nationally recognized composers,
conductors and performers who have received nearly 40 Grammy
Awards and nominations over the past 40 years.

The college enjoys a national reputation for its liberal arts and sciences
and pre-professional programs. With its graduate and undergraduate
degrees, honors programs, and research and internship opportunities,
Queens College helps its nearly 19,000 students realize their potential
in countless ways, assisted by an accessible, award-winning faculty.
The college was recently ranked tenth in the nation by the Chronicle of
Higher Education among public U.S. colleges for upward social and
economic mobility and globally, by the Center for World University
Rankings, in the top 3.5% of schools on such factors as quality of
education and faculty, and alumni employment. Located on a beautiful,
80-acre campus in Flushing, the college is cited each year in the
Princeton Review as one of the nation’s 100 “Best Value” colleges, as
well as being ranked a U.S. News and World Report Best College and
Forbes Magazine Best Value College thanks to its outstanding
