FLUSHING, NY, January 3, 2013 – The Queens College Choral Society seeks new members for its spring 2013 concert season, which will feature the performance of J.S. Bach’s B Minor Mass on Saturday, May 18. One of the great masterworks of all time – musically inspiring, spiritually uplifting, and a joy to sing – B Minor Mass will be performed at 7:30 pm in Colden Auditorium.

Auditions for new members will take place from 6:00-7:15 pm in the Music Building, Room 246, on the following Wednesdays: January 16, 23, 30, and February 6. Rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays beginning January 16 from 7:30 – 9:45 pm in Room 270.  Auditions consist of basic singing skills – no preparation is necessary.

From its founding in 1941, the Choral Society has offered QC students and faculty – and other music lovers from Queens, Manhattan, and Nassau/Suffolk counties  – the opportunity to learn and perform choral masterpieces. The society welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds and is open to anyone with prior singing experience.
