Check Your Application and Award Status
All
of the following are very helpful as a start, but unfortunately *none* of them will tell you the entire
story.
Please contact us with any questions about your status - or change of status.
Be sure to safefuard your PINs, and use the option where you can to change your PINs from time to time.
1) Use CUNY's EFAP (Electronic Financial Aid Processing System) to check Your FAFSA and TAP Application Status / and Aid Awards at CUNY -see CUNY Portal and BASIC eFAP Instructions / Brochure *AND* More Detailed CUNY eFAP Instructions / Brochure (both prepared by the CUNY Office of Student Financial Assistance)
Go to http://www.cuny.edu - Click the Log-in button in the menu on the left side of the screen. If you already have a CUNY portal account, enter your userid and password. Otherwise, select the option to register for an account. Log-in to the portal and select "CUNY's Online Center for Admissions and Financial Aid" on "My Page." Select "Financial Aid" from the menu on the left . Start exploring with "Application Status."
EFAP is an easy way to check CUNY's information about your applications, edits and problems. Your tentative awards may be posted here, but you will NOT be able to see on this system the complete evaluation of your eligibility for those awards based on your registration or other eligibility criteria.
INFORMATION FOR *** 2009-2010 *** IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE.
Please note - only current students will be able to access financial aid information at this time through the CUNY Portal.
If you have trouble with your CUNY Portal registration or login, see additional instructions the Provost's Office has posted for another portal application at http://qcpages.qc.cuny.edu/edtech/BlackBoard/portalProblems.html . To update your email address as referred to on the Provost's site, use your QC registration PIN to access esims at http://esims.cuny.edu, and select the option to update your email address.
2) Aid Applied to Your Tuition / Fees Bill at QC - https://esims.cuny.edu
See that portion of your aid that's been applied to your semester's tuition / fees bill by selecting the Billing / Financial Aid Link from the menu after you sign in. You use the QC registration system PIN for this one.
If aid you expected to be
applied toward your bill does not show here, contact the Financial Aid
Office immediately.
NOTE: as of July 15, 2008, the signon to eSIMS will be ONLY through your CUNY portal account. CUNY has posted the following instructions to each college's initial page under eSIMS:
Accessing eSIMs using http://esims.cuny.edu will soon be discontinued (as will this page). You should use your CUNY Portal Username and Password to access eSIMS. If you have not already done so, please go to http://portal.cuny.edu, obtain a Portal Username and Password. Login to the Portal. On your MYPAGE you should see an eSIMS single-signon selection. Click it and your eSIMS menu will be brought up. If the correct college is not made available to you, go to your Portal Profile option on the bottom of the left side panel. Select Modify Profile. Select the college from your Primary Affiliation that you want to register for. Modify the Profile and go back to the eSIMS single-signon selection.
3) TAP Application Status with NYS - https://web.hesc.org/hescpub/main?target=renderer_tap_student_inq&select=1
Check
whether HESC in Albany has your application, what they are waiting for,
your college codes, and make college code changes. Before your
information is available here, you must either have completed your
entire TAP on the Web, or responded to inquiries from the University to
complete your appocation on paper. This system will not tell you whether you are registered at QC in an eligible way to receive
aid awarded by NYS.
4) FAFSA Application Status with the Federal Processor - http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/FOTWWebApp/follow003.jsp
Is the Federal Processor waiting for
something from you? Are there federal edits you need to respond to? You
use your federal financial aid PIN for this one. NOTE: This will not tell you awards, or whether you are registered at QC in an eligible way to receive
any Federal aid you have been aid awarded.
