Application Fee and Program Changes

The application fee is $125.

The $125 application fee is waived for Queens College graduates who are applying for the Fall 2009 semester and have graduated from an undergraduate program between February 2009 and September 2009.

Prospective Graduate Students for Accounting (code 300) Individuals who hold a degree in Accounting from Queens College and have a overall GPA and a major GPA of 3.0, or greater, will not be required to submit: GMAT, letters of reference or essay with their admissions package.

For the Family & Consumer Sci/Teacher (K-12), MSEd program (code 557), only two (2) letters of recommendation are now required.

The Psychology Department has added a new program: Behavioral Neuroscience, MA (program code 307) and is accepting applications for the Fall 2009 semester until May 15

The SEYS Department has added a new program: Chinese (7-12), Initial Advanced Certificate (program code 873) and is accepting applications for the Fall 2009 semester until May 5

The new program: Enterprise Risk Management (program code 300ERM) is accepting applications for the Fall 2009 semester until July 15

The Psychology-Clinical Behavior program (code 341)has been suspended and is no longer accepting application.

The Aaron Copland School of Music has added four new programs: Chamber Music, Adv Dpl (program code 869), Performance, Adv Dpl (program code 870), Performance-Professional Studies, Adv Cert (program code 871), and Performance, Adv Cert(program code 872).

For the Psychology, MA program (code 340), only the general aptitude Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required, the Psychology GRE is no longer a requirement.

The English Language Teaching (program code 865) is an Advanced Certificate program offered by the LCD department; please see their website for more information.

Fifteen Credit EECE Post-Master’s Certificate Program

The purpose of the Elementary and Early Childhood Department's fifteen credit post masters certificate program at Queens College is to create a selection of post masters certificates that consist of five courses in specific fields. These certificates are available to students who have completed their master's degree and are looking for additional courses. Completion of the five courses (15 credits) will result in a Certificate of Advanced Study in a specific field. The specific fields are:
  • Early Childhood Education (Birth to Second Grade)
  • Language Minority Education
  • Child Developmental Psychology
  • Science Education
  • Social Studies Education
  • Math Education
  • Children’s Literature
