An Open Letter from the President on the Tragedies in Myanmar and China The recent devastation and loss of life caused by a cyclone in Myanmar and an earthquake in China have reached far beyond these areas of the world, and have touched the lives of members of our own campus community. It is with great concern and a sense of sorrow that I extend, on behalf of the college, our heartfelt thoughts and prayers. We at Queens College are moved by the hardship the many victims are facing as a result of this disaster, and are motivated by the worldwide outpouring of support. It is with this in mind that I encourage members of our community to donate anything they possibly can to the relief efforts. Please contact the American Red Cross at http://www.redcross.org/ or call 1-800-REDCROSS for more information on how you can help. Furthermore, please be aware that our Counseling and Resource Center is available to provide counseling to anyone on campus affected by these disasters. To contact the center, call X75420 from a campus phone, or 718-997-5420 from off campus. | ||||||||
