Queens College/PCS Paralegal Program welcomes students from all over the world.
For international students, this full-time, 20–hour-per-week program meets the requirements for an I-20 certificate of eligibility and allows students to apply for an F-1 student visa.
We offer two options: 1-Paralegal Program Direct and 2-Joint Program (Paralegal Program and ESL).
F-I student visas can be issued only to paralegal students enrolled in the full-time Accelerated Day Program. Part-time programs do not qualify.
Students must apply to the paralegal program first and get accepted before applying for an F-1 visa.
Option 1: Paralegal Program Direct – English Proficiency met
STEP 1:
Applications for admission include the following items:
*A completed paralegal application with a nonrefundable $60 application fee.
*Credentials translated and evaluated on a course-by-course basis to confirm a minimum of 60 US credits, of which 18 must be in liberal arts subjects spread over three different disciplines. Contact wes.org or aacrao.org for evaluations (agencies charge a separate fee).
*TOEFL score required. Minimums as follows:

STEP 2:
*After acceptance into the paralegal program, click here for the Application for Full-Time International Students (I-20 Form).

*You will be notified within one to two weeks after your application has been received whether you have been accepted. We will EXPRESS MAIL your official I-20 Immigration and Naturalization Certificate of Eligibility and your notice of admission.
You must present our I-20 and financial documentation to the American consular officer when you apply for your student visa. Once you arrive in the United States, you must register at the PCS office in person and pay the semester's tuition in full, plus the nonrefundable registration fee. Please note: We cannot accept tuition through the mail, nor do we accept electronic transfers.

Option 2: Joint Program: Paralegal Program and ESL
International students who meet all of the academic credentials, but whose English language proficiency is not sufficient for the Paralegal Program, may enter the Joint Program by taking up to a year of English language training at the English Language Institute and then continuing on to the paralegal program.

STEP 3:
Attend the English Language Institute.
STEP 4:
Upon reaching English proficiency by passing the ELI examination along with a certificate of attendance, students then register for the Paralegal Day Accelerated Program.
