National Sustainable Building Advisor Program (NaSBAP)
The NaSBAP is offered in partnership with Airtek Environmental Corporation. The program will provide students with the knowledge, tools, and resources to fulfill the eligibility criteria for the LEED Green Associate Exam; gain professional accreditation as a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor (after completion of course and exam); identify and articulate key sustainable building practices and analyze costs/benefits of implementation; work with designers, architects, builders, operators, and utilities managers to effectively apply LEED, Built Green and other relevant criteria and guidelines to projects; and become a leader and expert in this rapidly growing field.
Students will gain hands-on experience and earn 100 AIA-approved Learning Credits as well as credits for LEED AP credential maintenance. The program will run for nine months, meeting two days each month, encompassing over 100 hours of learning. Course content will be delivered in the form of lectures and field trips. Additionally, students will enhance their learning with writing assignments and a team project culminating in a final presentation and graduation ceremony.
