Politics & Political Parties In America-Part II
This course explores the inception of political parties in America, from Lincoln to the present day. We will also examine the results of the 2012 presidential election. 12 hrs.

The Career Woman and the Television Sitcom
Taking funny business seriously, this class follows the evolution of situation comedies in which the main character is an independent working woman. We will look at such television series as Our Miss Brooks, That Girl, Mary Tyler Moore, and Murphy Brown, and see how the career women in these programs matured through the years. 12 hrs.

Those Glorious Musicals: The MGM Musicals of the Arthur Freed Unit
Arthur Freed began his career as a songwriter, but soon became the executive producer of some of the best musicals made by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios. Our curriculum covers six of them: Meet Me in St. Louis, Easter Parade, On the Town, Singin' in the Rain, The Band Wagon, and Gigi. We will examine  choreography, themes, and cinematography, as well as the screenplays and scores of these glorious musicals! 12 hrs.
