A campus map and a listing of department events that follow the Commencement Ceremony will be in the back of the your program. The listing of events is also on this website; click here.
Grads are encouraged to print maps and share with guests before coming to Commencement.
Diplomas are not distributed at the Commencement Ceremony. They are mailed to graduates by the Registrar's Office approximately 12 to 15 weeks after completion and verification of all requirements. Graduates should keep their mailing address current with the Registrar's Office.
Graduates report to their assembly areas by 8 am (see the Reader's Card that the graduate will bring on Commencement Day).
Graduate Seating on Quad
Graduates will be seated in four areas in the front of the Quad, one for each division: Arts & Humanities, Education, Math & Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences.

A large, relatively flat, and partially shaded grassy plain in the center of the campus. The back rows are 500 feet from the stage. You might wish to bring binoculars, sunscreen, visors, sun hats, and water. The Quad can become quite warm; dress accordingly and bring a hand-held fan for personal comfort. Some guest seats are in the shade.
Vendors will be available at the usual locations on campus as well as additional locations near the Quad.
Seating on Quad
There will be thousands of seats on the Quad, available on a first-come, first-served basis--no tickets required. Guests should be seated by 8:35 am at the latest. Many guests arrive as early as 7 to 7:30 am.
Comfortable shoes are strongly suggested for walking on the Quad grass and through campus.
Vendors will be available under tents near the Quad.
The only event that requires tickets will be the Education Division Ceremony, which will take place in Colden Auditorium about 30 minutes after the college-wide Commencement Ceremony ends on the Quad. Education graduates may obtain tickets through their department. Click here for information. Colden Auditorium doors will open at 11 am for guests who choose not to attend the Quad ceremony.
The use of personal video equipment is allowed to the extent that it does not obstruct the view of other guests. Please be considerate and aware of others in the audience. Aisles and stage areas must be kept clear.

If you or your guests require assistance with wheelchair access, please contact Security (Jefferson Hall, Room 201, 718-997-4443) after May 11. Sorry, we cannot provide wheelchairs. If help is needed for people who are hearing or visually impaired, please notify the Events Office in early May.
Wheelchairs and strollers may not be placed in the aisles. Please ask a marshal or security representative to remove a chair to make a space not in the aisle.
The Queens College Silhouette Yearbook (published continuously since the first graduating class in 1941) makes an excellent graduation gift. Graduates receive yearbook information from the Student Life Office in the Student Union Building or online at www.jostensyearbooks.com. The yearbook costs $75.
