The Student Union is the hub for Queens College’s 120 student clubs and organizations. Stop by to discover others who share your interests—or to explore a new one—and you might find yourself taking on a leadership role. Fashion, fencing, filmmaking, fine arts, forensics, knitting for charity, Model United Nations, and science fiction/animation are just a few of the clubs geared to special interests. Among the recreational ones are badminton, fencing, martial arts, and soccer.
Gather to tutor or talk with others in the field you’re studying, whether it’s biology, computer science, economics, physics, or philosophy, to name several of those with an academic focus. Cultural/ethnic organizations—among them African, Bangladeshi, Caribbean, Chinese, Hindu, Irish, Italian American, and Latin American—highlight QC’s vibrantly diverse campus world. You’ll find the range of religious organizations to be equally encompassing, such as Hillel, Ikaros, the Korean Campus Crusade for Christ, and the Muslim Students Association.
The Student Union also houses Greek letter, honor society, and graduate student organizations. Through the Queens College Association, you can enrich campus life further by starting a new club or organization. Or find your extracurricular niche on one of QC’s 20 Division II sports teams, in student government, at WQMC radio, or at the award-winning campus newspaper, the Knight News.
