On Wednesday, May 1, 2019, the Asian\/American Center (A\/AC) of Queens College celebrated Asian American Heritage Month with students, faculty and community members. Asian\/American Center’s 2019 Scholarship recipients were announced at this student-focused event. Recognition Awards were granted to Mr. David Ames and Mrs. Eugenia Ames, dedicated supporters of A\/AC\u2019s programs, and Professor Yunzhong Shu, Director of East Asian Studies at Queens College. Carl Takei, a senior staff attorney at the ACLU’s Trone Center for Justice and Equality delivered a speech on “Asian Americans, White Supremacy, and the Importance of Solidarity.”<\/p>\n
