Honors and Awards
The Department of Accounting & Information Systems in pleased to honor its graduating seniors and students completing the Masters of Science degree in Accounting who have achieved academic excellence. Depending on sponsorships received each year, the Department has recently granted the following awards:
- PCAOB Scholarship
- Accounting & Information Systems Distinguished Scholar Awards
- New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants Awards
- Louis Geller Award
- Eugene Rosenfeld Award
- Wann Family Scholarship
- Wiley Award of Excellence
- McGraw Hill Accounting Award of Excellence
- Cengage Accounting Award of Excellence
- Becker CPA Scholarship
- Roger CPA Scholarship
- Gleim CPA Scholarship
In general, these awards are accompanied by a certificate of recognition as well as either a monetary award or scholarship for a designated purpose.
Graduating seniors and students completing the Masters of Science degree in Accounting who achieve a GPA of 3.7 or greater in their accounting major will also receive “high honors” recognition at Commencement. Students achieving GPA of 3.5 or greater in their accounting major receive “honors” recognition at Commencement.
Honors and awards are granted by the Department are based on a student’s academic record. It is usually not necessary for a student to apply to be considered for awards recognition.
